About us

Since 1969, for the farmers of India

A Mandsaur company built by an agricultural scientist, still run on his promise: the prosperity of farmers is our goal.

Our story

From one resolve to a range farmers trust

In 1964, while studying agricultural science and serving the Rajasthan government, Narendra Singh Sipani resolved to bring modern farm knowledge, plant nutrition and crop protection to the farmers he met every day.

In 1969, with the support of Shri Shantilal Jain and Shri Mahesh Sharma, he founded Micro Chemicals (India) in Mandsaur. It was the first company in India to introduce micronutrients under the name “Micron”, and together with the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, it made naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), which stops flowers and young fruit from dropping, in India for the first time.

Leading companies chose to work with us. In 1988 Ciba-Geigy began a technical collaboration with us for Ciba Wettable Sulphur, and partners including Rhône-Poulenc, Gharda Chemicals and Indofil brought their technologies to farmers through our network. The work was recognised on Doordarshan and in Dharmayug.

In 1991–92 we set up Sipani Krishi Anusandhan Farm (SKAF), where new varieties and products are tested in real field conditions before they reach farmers. In 2019 we celebrated our Golden Jubilee, with more than fifty products developed along the way.
